The Fish Who Could Wish

The Fish Who Could Wish is a very short book that was written by John Bush. The theme of wishing is an exciting one, especially when the children realize that wishes are limitless and they can have some fun describing and writing about them.  Even better when wishes become directed to resolving problems in the world. There was once a fish that loved to wish. He wished for a castle, car, horse, and a Spanish Guitar. Once, when he wished he could go out for a ski. So it snowed for a week under the sea. He wished he could fly so he flew around the world two times in one night. He wished that when the sharks came hunting he could turn to small to eat. To teach the sharks a lesson he would turn into a shark and them into fish. He wished himself into all kinds of shapes. He wished for everything but not to be wise. One day, just for fun that silly old fish wished the silliest wish he could wish. He wished that he could be a normal fish. But normal fish would not wish. So that was his last wish. I think that the message in this book is that you should not wish your life away. I think that this book should be directed to children from the ages of 5-8. All in all, it may be a silly story but it still has a very powerful message.Image result for the fish who could wish
